Where one can really reconnect to nature and oneself…

The extreme south of Portugal – the Algarve coast – known by the infinite blue sea, its warm and calm waters and sandy beaches, as well as the big surf waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Dharma Garden with a breathtaking view over the lush green hills, is situated next to Marmelete, a town in Monchique district. With a privileged location, 15 minutes from Aljezur, 25 minutes from the surf coasts and 30 minutes from the south beaches, the ideal place to enjoy, explore and transform oneself into a new being.

The Algarve with its fantastic coast, is that which annually attracts thousands of tourists looking for holidays in sun and sea. However, there is an unknown Algarve, most genuine and still with plenty to unravel: the sierra. This is in the inland, away from the bustle of the beaches, where life moves to a different rhythm. Here one finds hills and villages we thought no longer existed. The Algarve possesses many treasures. The area itself has great landscape of blue sea and reddish earth, rough rocks and sunny orchards where oranges and lemons grow alongside mint and lavender. There are the ancient olive trees, the coloured houses glowing along side of lush hills and the high cliffs transmitting a sense of transcendence.

There are the foreign people that have inhabited the Algarve through-out history from the Arabs, Moors and Romans to the more recent arrivals of visitors from Germany and The Netherlands today. All bringing their rich influences.

North-West Algarve

Just a little bit more inland, away from the touristic Southern Coast of the Algarve, the natural beauty still remains wild and relatively untouched, retaining its charm and heritage. This ancient and wild side in the mountains of the Algarve is where you can really reconnect to nature and yourself.. With the help of an experienced guide or on your own, you will walk along paths very few ever experience, allowing the nature and power to be an inspiration and reflect itself in your journey and meditations.

Healing waters of Monchique

Specific places like Caldas de Monchique have been for so long a kind of miniature magnet that draws different people towards it, not only because of its mediterranean beauty, but also because of the thermal baths from something deep within the earth itself. There is a special energy, an intensity in which the spiritual and the earthly dimensions overlap and meet together.
